How a Residential Video Wall Actually Works
Tile Technology: Most residential installations use direct-view LED, where each tile carries its own array of light-emitting diodes, and the tiles lock together into a continuous canvas. The alternative is a seamless LCD array, which can make sense in specific budget or lighting scenarios. We specify the approach that fits the room rather than defaulting to one standard.
Pixel Pitch and Seating Distance: Pixel pitch is the distance between diodes, and it determines how close you can sit before the image breaks apart. A wall viewed from twelve feet in a great room has different requirements than one viewed from six feet in a simulator bay. Getting this wrong is the most common failure point in a poorly specified system, so we calculate it against your actual seating positions during design.
Processing and Sources: A dedicated video processor drives the array, scaling and mapping your sources across the full canvas. That same processor lets you split the wall into multiple windows, so you can watch four games at once on a Sunday or run a course view alongside your swing data.
Infrastructure and Integration: This is the part that separates a video wall from a television purchase. The array needs structural backing capable of carrying the load, a shallow recessed cavity framed to tolerance, and dedicated circuits. Managed ventilation is also essential, because LED tiles generate real heat and Arizona's attic and equipment spaces run warm. We plan service access into the design from the beginning, so individual tiles can be reached without demolition.
