When our client embarked on bringing their dream home together, they envisioned a space where technology and comfort converged to create a seamless living experience. One of the crown jewels of this project was to be a custom home theater designed not just for watching movies but for immersing in an unparalleled cinematic experience.

Initial Challenges

One of the initial challenges was that the newly built home had no pre-existing wiring for either AV or network connectivity! While spacious and structurally sound, the theater room needed to be equipped with the essential wiring or electrical setups to support high-end theater equipment. Additionally, the client wanted whole-home speakers; multiple TVs, including weather-resistant outdoor units; comprehensive internet coverage; and security cameras throughout the property.

Custom Solutions

1. Wiring & Electrical Upgrades:

Our first task was to retrofit the entire home with the necessary wiring infrastructure. This was no small feat; it involved carefully opening up walls to install audio, video, and internet cables without disrupting the aesthetic and structural integrity of the new construction. In the theater room, we upgraded the electrical systems to support high-end AV components, ensuring that all equipment would function optimally and safely.

2. Home Theater Design & Installation:

The centerpiece of our project was the custom home theater. To accommodate the client’s desire for a "killer theater" experience, we had to redesign the room significantly. This included constructing a new wall specifically designed to house an array of high-quality B&W speakers and a JL Audio subwoofer. Anthem electronics were chosen for their exceptional processing power and compatibility with multiple audio formats. Finally, a Stewart film screen paired with a top-of-the-line Sony projector provided the visual foundation for the theater.

3. Whole-Home Audio & Visuals:

To ensure continuity of experience throughout the house, we installed a network of speakers in every room, controlled centrally via a smart system. This setup included weather-resistant SunBrite TVs for outdoor areas, ensuring that entertainment was not confined indoors. Screen Innovations shades were installed for every window, providing automated lighting control and adding an extra layer of privacy and energy efficiency.
